    What is floating support?

    Floating Support is a service that offers practical and emotional support when women begin to think of moving on from the Refuge.

    Moving on from the Refuge can be a scary and an exciting experience. The Refuge is a very supported and secure environment and moving away from this into a new home in a new environment can be daunting.

    This is where the Floating Support Workers can be so helpful, offering practical and emotional help, including;
    • budgeting
    • setting up new bank accounts
    • finding a new property
    • finding furniture
    • making new friends
    • settling into a new area
    Not everyone who leaves the Refuge will feel the need to access Floating Support immediately, but even if it's been a while, an ex resident can refer herself for support.
